The best part is these later Struck Mini Dozers had a removable seat so you could easily access the belt system. So these are very inexpensive to restore compared to other "toys" out there. I replaced the 2 reverse drive belts shortly after I purchased it, and I think the total for both belts (Dayco GT belts) was under $20.00. The drive systems are complex in design, but at the same time VERY SIMPLE to work on, with most parts (belts, pulleys, bearings) being generic over-the-counter lawn and garden/ hardware store stuff. and while it currently runs and drives (and pushes snow!), the belts and pulleys need adjustment, lubrication and possibly a bearing or two on a couple of idlers. Even the original seat is in nice shape!.As mentioned above, these dozers are Belt Driven, with a final chain drive. That said, everything is still solid (no structural issues) and it is an EXCELLENT BASE for restoration!. This little Struck has definitely been used and has many scuffs, scratches, dings, etc. No, you're not going to dig a basement with one of these, but I've used my MD55 for pushing dirt way more than I thought I would!.and my kid loves to drive it as well.As for cosmetics? The photos pretty much speak for themselves. What is cool about these electric lifts is that it allows some "down force" so you can really move material as opposed to the manual lift types that allow the blade to "float" over the ground a little more. Dozer blade has Electric Lift that works PERFECTLY. Ammeter works and charging system is doing its job, and as stated above, I just installed a new 320cca battery. Even the original petcock (fuel shut off) still works as it should. Gas tank has a dent in it (please see close-up photo), but DOES NOT LEAK. I just installed a new battery, changed the oil, gave the carb a quick cleaning, and installed a new fuel line (still had the original which was as hard as a rock!). The original Tecumseh 8HP starts (Electric Start!!) and runs well. It's not the best looking/fitting piece, but it does its job. These photos were taken today, Decem(0 degrees fahrenheit!!) and the dozer is idling nicely while pics were being taken. Also, somewhere along the line someone made their own battery cover using a sheet of stainless. It would be a very easy job to fabricate a new bracket. I do have the complete air-filter cannister, just not the bracket. The only missing parts that I can tell are the original air cleaner "holder bracket" that allows the cannister to be mounted to the carb, one of the joystick grips and the original battery box cover. I have another Struck MD-55 (earlier version of the MD1600) that I have brought to vintage car and tractor shows in the back of the old chevy pickup and I can tell you that these little dozers do draw a crowd!!. Would make a PERFECT CHRISTMAS GIFT for the guy that has everything and "needs" a Fun Winter Project. Figure I might as well let it go to someone that can enjoy it now. This is a project that I will not be getting to any time soon. STRUCK is located in Wisconsin, USA and are still in business today. To the best of my knowledge, these were the last version of the belt/chain driven Mini Dozers as after the MD1600, they went to hydro-drive. These fees and commissions do not influence the amount a customer pays.Up for sale is my late 70's (or possibly early 80's?) STRUCK MD1600 Mini Dozer.
