I pulled these from the encoded files with MediaInfo:Ĭabac=1 / ref=8 / deblock=1:-1:-1 / analyse=0x3:0x133 / me=umh / subme=9 / psy=1 / psy_rd=1.00:0.15 / mixed_ref=1 / me_range=16 / chroma_me=1 / trellis=2 / 8x8dct=1 / cqm=0 / deadzone=21,11 / fast_pskip=1 / chroma_qp_offset=-3 / threads=6 / lookahead_threads=1 / sliced_threads=0 / nr=0 / decimate=1 / interlaced=0 / bluray_compat=0 / constrained_intra=0 / bframes=3 / b_pyramid=2 / b_adapt=2 / b_bias=0 / direct=3 / weightb=1 / open_gop=0 / weightp=2 / keyint=250 / keyint_min=25 / scenecut=40 / intra_refresh=0 / rc_lookahead=60 / rc=crf / mbtree=1 / crf=16.0 / qcomp=0.60 / qpmin=0 / qpmax=69 / qpstep=4 / vbv_maxrate=25000 / vbv_bufsize=25000 / crf_max=0.0 / nal_hrd=vbr / filler=0 / ip_ratio=1.40 / aq=1:1.00Not sure if it's actually the x264 parameters though that are making it take a lot longer though because with me=hex vs umh in Stax vs RipBot I would think RipBot would take longer. But it seems the command line parameters for the x264 portion of the process aren't the same despite using the same presets. I really expected these to end in similar file sizes and encode times if using the same presets without tweaking them. ![]() The resulting encode from StaxRip was about 2.3GB, and took about 5 hours to encode. ![]() ![]() The resulting encode from RipBot was 1.01GB, and took about 3.5 hours to encode. For StaxRip I used your "Hable (Custom)" template. For RibBot I just used its default Tonemap option (it's either on or off). I didn't change anything else in the settings or defaults in either program. In both cases my x264 encode settings were CRF=16, Preset=Slow, Tune=Film. I encoded a 45 min, 3840x1920 (AR=2.00:1) TV show and resized down to 1280圆40 on my i5-3210M, using your "Old Computer" version (StaxRip 1.8.2.0), versus current version of RipBot264 (v1.23.1). I never burn in subs.Holy heck! Encloding 4k HDR with StaxRip and these scripts results in a nicer finished product than RipBot.Īlthough something is not fully equal. Forced unticked, Burn in unticked, default unticked (unless I'm including any forced subtitles for foreign audio sections of the video, in which case that track would be forced, default). It doesn't have that much of an effect on file size (not as much as the video settings themselves)Īs needed.
